What does the Bible say? The Bible says that "He (Jesus) is the Image of the invisible God", and that "by Him all things were created." Colossians 1:15-16
What does Jesus say? Jesus said "I and the Father are One, and "Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father... Believe Me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me." John 14:9-11
Why did Jesus come?
1. Because God loves us and desires to be in relationship with us.
"For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
2. Because our sin has separated us from God.
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 "For the wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23
3. Because He is the path to reconciliation to God. He is God's provision for our sin. His death on the cross pays the penalty for our sin.
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which they must be saved." Acts 4:12 "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy 2:5 "Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
4. To bring us back into relationship with God. For this to happen we must each one accept the gift of grace offered through Christ's death, which in turn brings us new and eternal life.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ... God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them... God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Jesus asks, "Who do you say that I am?" Is He the path to God, or not? Is Jesus the path to reconciliation to God, or not? The evidence says yes. Do you believe that evidence? Are you believing it for the first time? Do you want to be in relationship with God, your creator. Then why not pray to Him right now. Prayer is just having a conversation with God. Thank God that He loves you so much. Thank Jesus for dying on the cross to forgive your sin and give you eternal life. Ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior (your forgiver and leader of your life).
